Dr. Hao Van Bui

Hao obtained a BSc degree in Physics at Quy Nhon University in 2002, an MSc degree in Materials Science at ITIMS, Hanoi University of Technology in 2008. From 2008 to 2012, he was a PhD student at the Semiconductor Components Group, University of Twente, the Netherlands, where he obtained his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in January 2013. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the NanoElectronics Group, University of Twente (November 2012 - October 2014) and at the Department of Chemical Engineering, TU Delft, the Netherlands (November 2014 - May 2017). From September 2002 to October 2018, he was also a TA/lecturer at the Department of Physics, Quy Nhon University. Since November 2018, he works as a researcher, leading the ALD Research Group at Phenikaa University.

Dr. Viet Huong Nguyen

Viet completed a B.S in Materials Science at National Institute of Applied Science of Lyon (INSA de Lyon), France in 2013, a M.S. in Nanoscale Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, INSA de Lyon and University Lyon 1 with highest honors in 2015, and a Ph.D in Materials Science & Engineering from University Grenoble Alpes in 2018. Thanks to his remarkable research work during his Ph.D, he has won the best Ph.D thesis prize from Chemical Society of France, Solid State Chemistry Division. From November 2018 to June 2019, Viet worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Laboratory of Materials Science and Physical Engineering (LMGP) under the supervision of Dr. David Muñoz-Rojas and Prof. Daniel Bellet. Since August 2019, he works as a researcher in the ALD Research Group at Phenikaa University.

Dr. Viet-Thong Le

Thong obtained his BSc degree in Physics at Quy Nhon University in 2005 and MSc degree in Materials Science at ITIMS, Hanoi University of Technology in 2009. From 2010 to 2014, he joined the research group of Prof. Young Hee Lee at Center for Integrated Nanostructure Physics, Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea and obtained his PhD degree in Energy Science in February 2015. From 2015 to 2019, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Ozyilmaz Group at the National University of Singapore, Singapore. Since August 2019, he is a researcher at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Phenikaa University.

Dr. Ngoc Thanh Duong

Thanh obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at Faculty of Physics, University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 2014. From 2015 to 2020, he joined research group of prof. Mun Seok Jeong in Department of Energy Science, Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, and completed his Ph.D degree in February, 2020. From March 2020 to 2021, he worked as a Research Assistant Professor in Department of Physics and Semiconductor Science, Dongguk University, Seoul, South Korea. From March 2021 to present, he joined Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) research group, Faculty of Material Science and Engineering, Phenikaa University.

Dr. Thuy Huong Ta

Thuy Huong finished her BSc degree in Engineering Physics at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in 2013. From 2014 – 2015, she joined Kasai Research Group as an exchange student at Osaka University, Japan. Huong obtained her MSc degree in Engineering Physics at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in 2016. From 2016 to 2020, she was a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Anh Kiet Tieu at School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic, and Biomedical Engineering, University of Wollongong, Australia, and obtained her PhD degree in Materials in 2020. Since September 2020, she works as a postdoctoral researcher in the ALD research group at Phenikaa University.

My Hang Tran, M.S.

Hang finished her BSc and Master degrees in Environmental Engineering at University of Science, Vietnam National University in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Her previous research activities were on enhancing photocatalytic activity of different metal oxides including CuWO4, TiO2 for degradation of antibiotics pollutants in aqueous environment or textle wastewater treatment. Since March 2021, she works as a research assistant in the ALD research group at Phenikaa University. Her current research focuses on studying Sn- and Cu-based sulfides and oxides by Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) and Spatial Atomic Layer Deposition (SALD) for renewable energy-related applications.

Thanh Huong Vu, M.S.

Thanh Huong earned her BSc degree with first-class honors in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University in 2016. After her graduation, she worked for Samsung Display Vietnam for 2.5 years. Then, she relocated to Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, where she studied MSc in Science Engineering and received the degree in August 2021. During her MSc study, she experienced electronic device fabrication and application in memories, transistors, diodes, and photodiodes using 2D-3D materials. Since September 2021, she works as a research assistant in the ALD Research Group at Phenikaa University. Her current research involves fabrication of advanced nanostructured materials for energy and environmental applications.

Thien Thanh Nguyen, B.S.


Thanh obtained a BSc degree in Theoretical Physics at Hanoi National University of Education in 2020. He achieved 3rd prize for student scientific research at the Faculty of Physics in 2020. His work resulted in a paper published in the science magazine HNUE (Volume 65, Issue 3, 2020). After graduation, He taught Physics in English and supported students studying A-level Physics course. From Oct. 2021, he pursues master’s degree in Materials Science and Nanotechnology and works as a research assistant in the ALD Research Group at Phenikaa University.

Kim Hue Dinh, B.S.


Hue obtained her BSc degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology at the University of Science, Vietnam National University with highest honors in 2021 (rank 1/60). During her undergraduate studies, she worked on increasing photocatalytic activity of graphitic carbon nitrides by coupling metal-oxides for degradation of antibiotics pollutants in aqueous environment and reduction of CO2 in gas phase. From November 2021, she studies MSc in Material Science and works as a research assistant in the ALD Research Group at Phenikaa University.

Khanh Nguyen Tran, B.S. student

Nguyen was a former student of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, specialized in Physics. He won a Bronze Medal in the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics and the Second Prize in the National Excellent Student Contest on Physics, both in 2019. With these honorable achievements, he obtained a direct enrollment to Phenikaa University, where he is following the Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology program of the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering. Since November 2021, he joins ALD Research Group, where he is currently working on programming and developing models for optical analysis of thin films using spectroscopic ellipsometry and reflectometry techniques.

Kieu Diem Thi Nguyen, B.S.

Kieu Diem obtained a BSc degree in Physics at Quy Nhon University in 2021. During her undergraduate studies, she worked on "Photocatalytic properties of TiO2 materials modified by SiO2" in the academic year 2018-2019. She won the 1st prize in Experimental Physics in the XXII National Student Physics Olympiad. She is currently pursuing a master degree in Solid State Physics at Quy Nhon University. From November 2021, she joins the ALD research group, and works on the development of the gas injection manifold for Spatial Atomic Layer Deposition of transparent conductive oxides.
